The Invest in Kids Act.

Since the program launched in 2018, over $40 million has been donated to fund students attending Orthodox Jewish schools funding nearly 4,000 scholarships.

In 2017, Agudath Israel played a critical role in the passage of the Invest in Kids Act, otherwise known as “STC” (Scholarship Tax Credit program). The STC program provides up to $100,000,000 in private school K-12 scholarships to children from low-income and working-class families. Scholarships are funded through private donations from individuals and corporations to scholarship granting organizations, like Big Shoulders Fund and Empower Illinois, which administer the program.

Proven results.

Tax credit scholarships give children a chance at a quality education in the most suitable environment.  

  • In Florida, $650 million is raised each year to provide scholarships to more than 100,000 low-income students. 
  • A recent report from the Urban Institute discovered that scholarship students are more likely to attend college than their non-scholarship peers. 
  • Tax credit scholarship programs in Florida and in over a dozen other states have led to measurable improvements in public school students’ test scores.
